The Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) at Washington State University is holding its 3rd Annual Palouse Outdoor Festival on Saturday September 24th from 10:00a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Wawawai County Park with registration beginning at 9:30am!
This is your opportunity to try rock climbing, kayaking, or stand up paddle boarding for free! On Saturday, come down to Wawawai County Park where you’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at these amazing activities. There will also be great clinics for you to take advantage of, such as back-country cooking, LNT certification, and SUP yoga. Because Saturday is National Public Lands Day, the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands, participants will have the opportunity to beautify the areas of Granite Point and Wawawai County Park. Come take advantage of this great opportunity for our community to help maintain some of the greatest outdoor hotspots eastern Washington has to offer!
This FREE event, hosted in partnership with the University of Idaho’s Outdoor Program, the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE), Hyperspud, Backcountry Lark, B & L Bicycles, and White Pine Gear Exchange and Fly Shop is intended to engage participants in outdoor recreation, promote environmental stewardship, showcase local resources, and foster community across the Palouse.
Please Bring a Lunch and Snacks
Food will not be provided or available to purchase. Pack yourself a lunch, snacks, and plenty of water for the day so you can enjoy a picnic with friends and family in between activities.
Weather happens. Bring appropriate layers to help you manage your personal micro-climate.
All events are FREE, so please come and try something new! Look for a registration table at the Wawawai County Park. For more information about this event, please call 509.335.2651.
