Venerable Thubten Chordon has been a student of Buddhism since 1975, and ordained as a nun in the Tibetan tradition in 1977. She is the abess of Sravasti Abbey in Washington State, and is a popular speaker due to her practical explanations of how to apply Buddhist teachings in daily life. She is the author of several bestselling books, including Buddhism for Beginners.
The Unitaritian Universalist Church of the Palouse Buddhist Fellowship and Bookpeople will host Ven. Chodron and co-author Professor Russell Kolts, who will read from, discuss and sign copies of their new book, An Open-Hearted Life. Light refreshments will be provided.
