Apple History Tasting Tour

Steury Orchards in Potlatch specializes in heritage dessert, cider, and culinary apples, and in this class orchard owner Tim Steury will take you on a historical tasting tour of a selection of some of the 160 varieties he grows, such as the Roxbury Russet, the oldest variety bred in the United States, and the Fall Jenneting and the Palouse, stalwarts of the region's orchard industry of the previous century. Steury will also discuss which of the heritage varieties are best for the Palouse home orchardist.
