Event Description:
The City of Moscow Tree Commission will be hosting the annual Arbor Day ceremony and tree planting at 1:10 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Ghormley Park in Moscow. The City's 21st Tree City USA Award will be acknowledged and presented by a representative from the Idaho Department of Lands, Mayor Bill Lambert will read the annual Arbor Day Proclamation, and school children from West Park School will be participating in the tree plating and festivities.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the ceremony and help plant the Arbor Day Tree in Ghormley Park. David Rauk, Chair of the Tree Commission, will address the students as to the importance of trees and why planting is a valuable practice.

Those attending can take home a free Native Mountain Ash, Mockorange Syringa, or Corkbark Fir seedling courtesy of the Moscow Tree Commission. The event will go on rain or shine!
