Join us in welcoming local photographer Lance Lushnig and Artist Dan Stiles as we display their art.
Lance grew up in Chicago where he was introduced to art and photography by a father who was an avid amateur photographer from Austria. He (the son, not the father) honed his photographic skills roaming the streets and alleys of Chicago with an Exakta VXIIa camera. Many cameras and streets later interrupted by several exhibits in places as far afield as Chicago and Paris, Luschnig now photographs common things around Moscow, Idaho and turns them into pictures that amuse him at least.
Based in Portland, Oregon, Dan Stiles creates work that is a combination of illustration and design. Over the past 20 years Stiles has collaborated with everyone from indie bands to major corporations in creating identities, custom packaging, and limited edition collectable art and merchandise. He has recently released his first children's book, Put On Your Shoes. His work has garnered numerous awards, is regularly featured in national gallery exhibitions, and has been reproduced in a wide variety of books and magazines. His clients range from bands like Wilco and the National to brands like the X Games, Nickelodeon, and Intel. He draws from a broad swath of influences including classic skateboard graphics, album covers, modern art, Japanese design, comic books, folk art, and vintage packaging.
