Name: Beginning Birding
Date: April 24, 2017
Time: 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM PDT
Event Description:
Spring is a fantastic time for bird watching as the annual migrations bring traveling flocks through our area, giving us an opportunity to see birds not normally found in our region! In this class, you will learn how to identify birds and enhance your enjoyment of nature in the backyard, local parks, countryside, and wherever your travels take you. The class will focus on the essentials of birding including basic bird identification skills; tips on where, when, and how to observe birds; and resources for continuing your learning and enjoyment of birds. We wil combine class time with evening walks from the HIRC, culminating with a morning field trip to a variety of birding spots around town. Participants should bring binoculars; for binocular recommendations, please contact instructor prior to start of class.
