BookPeople of Moscow welcomes author Rachel Clark of Moscow, Idaho. Clark will read from her first novel “The Blackfish Prophecy.” The party, appropriately set for Earth Day, will begin with an informal signing and social time. The reading starts at 6:00 p.m. followed by Q&A. Books will be available for sale and signing. Light refreshments will be provided.
Rachel Clark is a mother, biologist, and science writer. She's covered all manner of human impacts on Earth's life support systems for science textbook companies, a government wildfire-research agency, national radio programs, online science curricula, and national magazines. In 2013, Psychology Today invited her to start her blog, Mothering Nature. Once, years ago for a college internship, Rachel had the privilege of working up close with captive dolphins and Belugas. A few weeks after the internship, she had a chance encounter with the majestic wild Southern Resident killer whales of Puget Sound. She lives in Moscow, Idaho, where she, her boys, and their father (a scientist-professor who studies the impacts of dams on wild salmon) visit the returning salmon on their epic migrations each year, and, on a few magical occasions, the wild orca who depend on those salmon.
