BookPeople of Moscow welcomes author Bob Pernsteiner of Clarkston, Wash. from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 7 for the New Chapters series featuring travel narratives, stories of place, and memoirs. Pernsteiner will discuss his new book, "Just the Shorts: A Minimalist Journey Through Europe," which retraces his father's WWII path in the Czech Republic. Books will be available for sale and signing.
In May 2015, Bob Pernsteiner embarked on a 26-day journey to retrace part of his father's WWII path in Europe. Along the way he visited his grandfather’s home town and several generations of my family in the Czech Republic and he did it all taking just a pair of swim shorts, a few toiletries, and a cell phone – no luggage at all. Pernsteiner is retired and lives with his wife of 43 years.
