The 2016 U.S. Capitol Christmas tree will make a cross-country road trip from Payette National Forest in Idaho to Washington D.C.
The tree is traditionally cut at the end of October or early November. It will then be prepared for the 2,800-mile expedition, transported with the help of sponsors Kenworth Truck Company and Hale Trailer.
We are fortunate the tree is making a stop in Moscow. There will be hot cocoa and other Vandal treats, along with a visit from Smokey the Bear and other favorites!
