Children's Book Week Story Times

Get ready for this year's Children's Book Week! Children's Book Week is the annual celebration of children's books and reading. Established in 1919, it is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. The program is administered by Every Child a Reader (ECAR) and the Children's Book Council (CBC) is the anchor sponsor. BookPeople will be celebrating the event with a series of fun-filled daily story time sessions, every day the week of May 4. Monday, May 4 at 11 am: Pet Partners/Paws with a Cause will read with their special canine friends. Tuesday, May 5 at 11 am: Sandye Crooks from Moscow Recycling will read Michael Recycle by Ellie Bethel. Wednesday, May 6 at 11 am: We'll be joined by former mayor Nancy Chaney! Thursday, May 7 at 11am: Our beloved Thursday Story Time reader Linda Cronquist will read her favorite picture books. Friday, May 8 at 11 am: Jenny Kostroff will ready Curious George Goes to a Bookstore, and keep an eye out for a special appearance by Curious George himself! What's more, we have a special Children's Book Week promotion, where the first 30 people to purchase a children's book during the week of May 4 will receive a free canvas tote bag featuring the adorable Children's Book Week illustration for 2015.
