Event Description:
Did you know that the Chinese have been in Idaho for almost 200 years?  In fact the Chinese in Idaho had a significant impact on the development of the West.  Remember to mark your calendars for our next China on the Palouse seminar on Feb. 3, 2016! We’ll welcome Priscilla Wegars of the UI’s Asian American Comparative Collection who will be presenting on the history of the Chinese in Idaho.
Other 2016 China on the Palouse presentations to put on your calendars are Terry Abraham(Chinese Funerary Customs in Idaho and the West) on March 2, and Gregory Nokes (Chinese in Peril: The Massacre in Hells Canyon) on April 6!
Our hour-length China on the Palouse seminars start at 12:30 p.m. and are held in the Idaho Commons building’s Whitewater Room. China on the Palouse seminars are free and open to the public!
