Event Description:
Calling all painters!  The City of Moscow and the Moscow Arts Commission invite you to participate in the fifth annual Palouse Plein Air 2014.
 
What is Plien Air?
French for “in the open air” used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Plein air competitions are all about painting outdoors in a specific area or region and then having those paintings exhibited in an art gallery.
 
The 8 day painting competition begins September 10, 2014 and runs through September 19, 2014!
 
The competition is open to artists 18 years or older. All painting mediums are welcome!
 
The $20 entrance fee per participant includes: registration in the competition, an invitation to the Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony on September 19, and an invitation to the Quick Draw at the Moscow Farmers Market.
 
On September 19, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., participants are to deliver a maximum of 3 finished entries framed and ready to hang to the Third Street Gallery. The Gallery is located in Moscow City Hall (206 East Third). The judging will take place from 12:000 – 4:30 p.m.
 
The Palouse Plein Air 2014 Juror is Dana Aldis, local artist and Palouse Plein Air 2011 1st place winner.
 
On September 19, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. an artist reception and awards ceremony will be held at the Third Street Gallery. The event is free and open to the public.
