The 2nd Annual Environmental Law Soceity / Federalist Society Panel Discussion. University of Idaho College of Law. November 3rd, 2016 – Thursday – 5 - 7:30 p.m. Pacific Menard Law Building 711 S Rayburn St, Moscow, ID 83844, United States Courtroom This event will bring in 4 varying viewpoints on the topic of "Government Structuring in the Face of Climate Change" for a structured panel discussion.  The Make Up of the Discussion: The featured speakers will each have 20 minutes to discuss the topic, supplemented by a few prompts. Then, after a 10 minute break, The other two speakers, both academic from the University of Idaho, will have 15 minutes each to make their points, supplemented by a few prompts. There will be time for short rebuttals and questions from the audience at the end of the sessions. The Featured Speakers Include: Mr. Bandow is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, specializing in foreign policy and civil liberties. He worked as special assistant to President Ronald Reagan and editor of the political magazine Inquiry. He writes regularly for leading publications such as Fortune magazine, National Interest, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Times. Bandow speaks frequently at academic conferences, on college campuses, and to business groups. Bandow has been a regular commentator on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC. He holds a JD from Stanford University. Professor Rachael Salcido, of the McGeorge School of Law, will speak from a largely pro-regulation / reform standpoint. Professor Salcido's most recent publications include a scholarly article which examines environmental law conflicts with the build-up of renewable energy, Rationing Environmental Law in a Time of Climate Change. In 2015, at the Kratovil Conference for property practitioners at John Marshall Law School, Professor Salcido presented, Big Talk, Little Action on Renewable Energy, with a focus on Climate Change, Fracking and a Bridge to the Future. Professor John Abatzoglou of University of Idaho is an Associate Professor of Geography with expertise in Climatology, Meteorology, Hydrology: http://webpages.uidaho.edu/jabatzoglou/ There is another academic to be added to the Panel from the Federalist Society in which is yet to be determined.
