Are you wondering how you can afford your child’s college education? Palouse Pathways is offering a seminar October 7th, from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the U of I Law School, Rm 104 to help parents and families understand what resources are available and strategies to make college affordable.
 
Carol Wagar, a Certified College Planning Specialist with EMSpring College Solution is the featured guest speaker and will be presenting tips, facts and resources to help parents and students plan for college.  Wagar has 25 years’ experience in financial planning, nine years specializing in funding for higher education.  Since her first presentation in 2011, she has helped hundreds of families through this very popular event. 
 
The evening presentation will include information parents and students need to choose an affordable college that fits their academic and financial profile. Wagar will explain the financial aid system, federal aid eligibility, the FAFSA and how parents can increase aid eligibility.
 
Other topics will include student loans and the importance of standardized test scores in increasing merit scholarships.  Wagar will also provide an overview of the college timeline as well as tips on how to choose a school that best fits your student academically, socially and financially.
 
Limited seats available on a first come, first serve basis, with $10 donation per family accepted at the door to cover Wagar’s travel and materials.
