Event Description:
The College Knowledge Workshop designed for parents and others in the community who want deepen their knowledge about college admissions so they can help area students.
 
The presenter will be Arun Ponussamy.  Arun has been an admissions representative at Cal Tech, University of Chicago and UCLA and is now Chief Academic Officer at Collegewise, America's largest college counseling company.  Here is his bio.  https://collegewise.com/counselors/arun-ponnusamy
 
Arun is preparing a workshop designed especially for Palouse Pathways. Topics will include Helping Students Consider Alternatives and Build a Smart College List; Guiding Students through the Mechanics of the Admissions Process.  He’ll also give a lunch address, designed for parents, volunteers and high school students, entitled The Power of You: What Admissions Officers Look for in Applications.
 
Palouse Pathways wanted to provide resources so that students throughout the Palouse, LC Valley and beyond can find help and support for their college and career aspirations.
Palouse Pathways reached out to Arun, who was excited to share his knowledge with families around the region
 
In addition to parents, local professionals who work with students are encouraged to attend. Palouse Pathways volunteer positions will be open to workshop attendees.  Our trained volunteers can answer questions and possibly serve as mentors for students needing more help to achieve their dreams.   
 
The event is free of charge, though Palouse Pathways accepts donations to help defray its costs for lunch, refreshments and materials.
