Event Description:
Courtney Kersten (University of Idaho MFA '16 Creative Writing) will read from her debut memoir Daughter in Retrograde (University of Wisconsin Press 2018) with an introduction and reading from special guest Laura Zak (MFA '17). Kersten was the 2016 Writer-In-Residence at the Great Basin Writer’s Residency in Baker, Nevada. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Idaho where she was awarded a Grace/Nixon Fellowship and the Writing in the Wild Fellowship. She has also been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Riga, Latvia, where she researched Baltic performing arts and literature. She currently studies in the Creative/Critical Writing Doctoral Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she teaches Creative Writing and is at work on a biography about the late superstar astrologer of the 1970s: Linda Goodman.
