Name: Culinary Arts: Spanish Paella Class with Jim
Date: June 10, 2017
Time: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
If you’ve ever been to Spain, you have surely seen or even eaten delicious paella! Paella (pronounced PIE-AY-UH) is a rice based dish with as many variations in preparation as the cooks who make it. Served from large shallow dishes steaming with a variety of seafood and/or meats, these large platters often will come flying through restaurant dining rooms in Spain with much fanfare on the shoulders of waiters.  Jim Harbour, WSU School of Hospitality professor and restaurateur will teach a fun and interactive class that will begin with an informative overview and history of paella. The class will then break into groups to work under Jim’s instruction on preparing the different components of making paella. He and the students will bring it all together in the end to make a couple pans of paella to eat and enjoy with wine. A delicious, fun and relaxed class—relaxed at Jim’s insistence! Set in the late afternoon, this class is ideal for leaving the day to run errands or tend your garden before enjoying an early dinner at the Barn! Bring friends to make your own work group! Wine and beer will be available
