Event Description:
A workshop in which participants make a hat of alpaca fiber using the wet felting technique is scheduled October 22 and 23 from 1 to 4 each afternoon at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown. This is a make-and-take workshop with textile artist and alpaca breeder Linda Mackey from Prosser. Participants will wet felt alpaca fiber and choose among several styles of hat molds furnished by the instructor. They will then embellish the hat with silk flowers and a band of alpaca. All materials will be provided for this workshop. Linda will provide a list of materials and complete instructions for future projects. The cost is $175 with registrations required by October 9. Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a non-profit creativity center in Uniontown on highway 195 in the big white barn behind the famous iron wheel fence.
