Name: Doing Better Science Through the Other "F" Word
Date: September 11, 2018
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
For Drs. Amy Mazur and Samantha Noll, two feminist scientists whose work is situated in the social sciences and the humanities, the notion of feminism provides a fundamental starting point to make science more scientific. Taking a feminist approach to research also has the promise of making science more meaningful and better suited to solve modern day problems.
So sip your favorite brew as you learn a thing or two! Together we will map out the different feminist approaches that are used in current research, learn how feminist research and scholarship can address the gaps in established science, and discover one specific area of feminist political science that has an integrative, comparative deminist agenda.
