Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Community members are invited to the Latah County Library District’s Troy, Idaho branch for Fake, Faux, or Real: Learning to Discern with Peter Haug, an educational program.
In the age of “fake news” and the Facebook and Cambridge Analytica scandal, it can be difficult to know what is fact and what is fiction. This presentation will cover the role of information in a democracy, examples of fake, faux, and real information, and how to discern the truth. Peter Haug is a former teacher with a background in public relations and journalism who is increasingly concerned about the effects false information is having on our democratic process.
Registration is not required for this free, fascinating library program.
