WSU Performing Arts and Letters Aloud presents FAME! (they're not going to live forever)
In 1968, Andy Warhol said, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” His prediction of fame’s fleeting nature in our celebrity-saturated culture could not have become more true.
Through the personal letters of some of history’s most famous (and infamous) celebrities—including the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Oprah Winfrey, Gertrude Stein, Gene Wilder, Marilyn Monroe, Kurt Vonnegut, and even Mr. Warhol himself—we’ll examine the high price of fame and how it has both evolved and devolved over the years.
A riotously funny, poignant, and thought-provoking experience with live musical accompaniment and a dynamic slideshow, “FAME! (they’re not going to live forever)” will leave you with a smile on your face and much to discuss on your way home.
