Fermented Foods Workshop

Location: Uma Center (located at 414 Jefferson St. in Moscow)

Class Description: Interested in making sauerkraut and kombucha? Did you know the same principles apply to fermenting all kinds of vegetables, and even grains? Come learn to ferment, and you'll go home ready to explore and create living foods. This workshop will cover everything you need to start fermenting: philosophy, preparation, fermenting vs pickling, recipes, and samples! During this workshop and you're learn health-enhancing techniques for increasing the nutritive and healing properties of your food through fermentation including recipes for the following foods: kombucha, kimchi,sauerkraut, yogurt, pomegranate honey, garlic honey, and fermented condiments (catsup, salad dressings).
About the Instructor: "Healing my health naturally led me to adopt the principles of natural health. I have taught workshops throughout the Willamette Valley at Natural Grocers, Loves Natural Foods in Ormond Beach and Port Orange, and most recently Abundant Life foods in Hilo. I have written three continuing education courses for nurses including Thyroid Gland Overview, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, the Power of Probiotics, and Digestion Basics.
