Sign up for one or both of our Fruit Tree Pruning Clinics and learn how to prune your fruit trees for better health and improved production! In our clinics, Deb Pehrson, Farm Manager at Washington State University and manager of the Ronald B. Tukey Horticulture Orchard Pullman, will present and overview of methods of pruning different types of fruit trees followed by field demonstrations and hands-on experience.
The first clinic, held on Saturday, February 25, will cover pome fruit trees such as apple and pear; the second clinic, held on Saturday, March 25, will address stone fruit trees such as cherry, plum, peach and apricot trees. Some tools will be provided, however, you are welcome to bring your own equipment as well, particularly loopers and pocket saws.
In addition to a B.S. in Environmental Science with a major in agriculture and an M.S. in Entomology, instructor Deb Pehrson has acquired a wealth of pruning experience during her 30+ years' experience working with the apple, pear, sweet cherry, sour cherry, apricot, peach, and plum trees in Washington State University's Tukey Orchard.
