Event Description:
Gritman Medical Center is hosting an open house to celebrate the launch of its new telemedicine/telestroke service on Wednesday, April 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the south lobby of Gritman Medical Center, 700 South Main St., Moscow.
 
The event will feature mock stroke response demonstrations by Gritman Emergency Services and Providence Health Care. Community members will have the opportunity to watch the telestroke robot in action, hear from staff and providers about the benefits of telemedicine, and learn more about how telemedicine helps Gritman emergency physicians quickly diagnose and treat stroke patients. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
 
Telemedicine is a partnership between Gritman Medical Center and Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, allowing local care teams to collaborate with specialists at Sacred Heart, and helping alleviate local provider shortage. Gritman is one of sixteen rural hospitals in communities surrounding Spokane, Wash., which have access to stroke expertise and advance services to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
