Event Description:
April showers might bring May flowers, but the autumn rains bring mushrooms! Join us on an active outdoor hike as we search under trees and logs for fungal treasures - if the weather cooperates, we should be able to find a variety of mushrooms including coral, shelf, and jelly fungi.
This course, which emphasizes the diversity of mushrooms and other fungi that occur in the area, begins with an orientation that takes approximately one hour and includes a slide show; after the orientation we will caravan to the site. Bring a sack lunch, appropriate field clothing, and collecting gear (bucket or basket, waxed paper or paper bag, and a knife).
