Event Description:
The month of May means morel season! Join us on an
active outdoor hike as we search under trees and logs for fungal
treasures. If the weather cooperates, we should find a variety
of mushrooms and sac fungi, including morels, false morels, and
cup fungi.
This course, which emphasizes the diversity of mushrooms and
other fungi that occur in the area, begins with an orientation
that takes approximately one hour and includes a slide show;
after the orientation we will caravan to the site. Bring a sack
lunch, appropriate field clothing, and collecting gear (bucket or
basket, waxed paper or paper bags, and a knife).
