Name: Idaho Gives- Statewide online fundraiser
Date: May 5, 2016
Event Description:
Event sponsors mean that matching funds are available throughout the day, and many local nonprofits are participating, including Palouse Habitat for Humanity, The 1912 Center, Palouse Land Trust, PCEI, Humane Society of the Palouse, Palouse Bicycle Collective, Latah Trail Foundation, Backyard Harvest, Kenworthy Performing Arts Center and Moscow Community Theatre, United Way of Moscow/Latah County, Moscow Mardi Gras and others.
“Habitat has seen such tremendous support at our recent fundraiser dinner and auction,” noted Jennifer Wallace, Executive Director for Palouse Habitat for Humanity. “But some folks would rather just click a button and be done. Plus the option for matching funds with Idaho Gives makes this a great way to support those organizations making a difference here on the Palouse.”
Last year, Idahoans contributed nearly $1.1 million for more than 675 nonprofit causes in communities large and small, across the state.  Coordinated by the Idaho Nonprofit Center, the Idaho Gives team will work from 12:01 am through 11:59 pm on May 5th to drive individual donors to the Idaho Gives website, www.idahogives.org, where they can make gifts to their favorite charitable causes. Not only will their donations go to the charity of their choice, but they also have the chance to score extra prize money for the nonprofits they care about most, through a variety of random drawings. For more information, visit www.idahogives.org, or follow Idaho Gives on Facebook and Twitter.
Palouse Habitat for Humanity is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.  It was established in 1992 and has built homes in Albion, Colfax, Pullman, Moscow, Genesee, Palouse and Uniontown.  Our mission is to serve our neighbors in need by helping eliminate poverty housing on the Palouse and worldwide.  Volunteers build simple, decent, affordable and energy efficient homes for those in need who meet Habitat’s selection criteria.    For more information on Palouse Habitat for Humanity and ways to make a difference in your community, visit www.palousehabitat.org or contact Doug Arlt, Board President, or Jennifer Wallace, Executive Director, at 208.883.8502 or habitat@palousehabitat.org.
