With the Latah County Historical Society, BookPeople is pleased to host Spokane-based teacher and naturalist Jack Nisbet on Wednesday, June 3 at 7:00pm. Jack will read from his latest book, Ancient Places: People and Landscape in the Emerging Northwest. Refreshments will be provided, beer and wine available for purchase. All are welcome. Jack Nisbet is the author of several books that explore the human and natural history of the Intermountain West, including Sources of the River, Visible Bones, and The Collector, a biography of David Douglas that was named a 2010 Book of the Year by the PNW Booksellers Association. His recent collection of essays about Douglas, titled A Naturalist at Work, serves as the catalog for a museum exhibit that will be on display at the Washington County Museum in Hillsboro Oregon through August 2015. The stories in Nisbet?s latest book, Ancient Places, investigate some of the people and phenomena that shaped the landscape of our region. For more information visit www.jacknisbet.com.
