Event Description:
Interest in landscaping with native plants is on the rise, and the Palouse region has many wonderful native trees and shrubs! In this class, you will get an introduction to the native trees and shrubs of the Palouse (and perhaps some of the wildflowers and grasses as well). In addition, important considerations such as site selection, where to acquire seeds and starts, soil types (or amendments) necessary for a thriving 'naturescape', and the ecological benefits of landscaping with native plants (such as attracting wildlife and pollinators) will be covered. This course will begin with a presentation followed by opportunity for questions/answers and discussions.
