Name: Latah County Historical Society Hosts Campfire Tales at McConnell Mansion
Date: June 7, 2018
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Join the Latah County Historical Society for an evening of stories from local authors, artists, and community members, told over a campfire, at the historic McConnell Mansion.

Bring blankets or camping chairs and let our community of artists entertain you the old fashioned way. These events are FREE and family-friendly; s’mores fixings will be provided.

Our first event will feature stories from local children’s author, Annette Pimentel (annettebaypimentel.com), local author Jennifer Met (jennifermet.wordpress.com), and Troy Sprenke, with a tale based on the life of Ione S. “Pinkie” Adair.

When Dr. Frederic Church donated the McConnell Mansion to the residents of Latah County, he did so with the expressed desire that it serve as a meeting place and museum for the area’s history. These events serve as an opportunity to bring people together, celebrate our vibrant arts community, and show off the beauty of the Mansion at night.

Artists interested in participating in future Campfire Tales should contact LCHS Executive Director, Dulce Kersting-Lark.

Campfire Tales will be held:
  • Thursday, July 12, 2018, 7:30-9 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 9, 2018, 7:30-9 p.m.

LCHS exists to preserve the heritage of Latah County, and put it to use for the benefit of our citizens and communities.  We accomplish these ends with exhibits, educational programs, research facilities, public events, community collaborations, and publications.
