Libraries Rock! Latah County Library District Summer Reading Events for June 4-8

Event Description:
Families with children are invited to participate in Libraries Rock!, the Latah County Library District’s Summer Reading Program! Summer Reading officially begins June 1 with a handful of events happening across the District during the week of June 4 – 8.
Moscow Public Library in the community:
Thursday, June 7, 6:00 p.m. Entertainment in the Park will kick off with the theater group, "The Traveling Lantern" at East City Park, Moscow.
Branch Library events for this week include:
Monday, June 4, 10:30 a.m. at Bovill Community Library: “Come Fly with Us!” Participants will learn about falconry from a local apprentice falconer and see a live demonstration of a red-tailed hawk in training.
Thursday, June 7, 11:30 a.m. at Deary Community Library: “Rock Painting!” Attendees will see examples and learn about rock painting with a local artist.
Thursday, June 7, 6:00 p.m. at Genesee Community Library: “Sesitshaya Marimba!” Sesitshaya Marimba Band plays traditional and contemporary songs from Sub-Saharan Africa and shares the lively rhythmic sounds of the sonorous Kwanongoma marimbas of Zimbabwe.
Friday, June 8, 10:30 a.m. at Juliaetta Community Library: “Fly Tying!” Participants will learn to tie fly fishing lures with Kevin Cleveland.
Registration is not required to attend events. Youth ages 0-18 can sign up for the Great Summer Reading Adventure, the online Summer Reading component, at lcld.northwestreads.org, or register in person at their local branch beginning June 1.
