Event Description:
Artisans at the Dahmen Barn presents another culinary arts class on Wednesday, October 26 titled Make a Spooky Halloween Cake from 6 to 9 pm.  Instructor Julie Hartwig, owner of The Shop at the Barn, has an associate professional bakery degree and has been a professional journeyman baker and caterer since 1979. She designs and makes simple cakes as well as sculpted cakes for weddings and birthdays.  Julie’s cakes are exceptionally creative and in much demand.  Students will make a ghostly graveyard using fondant for the ghosts on top of the cake.  The graveyard will be very delicious with a chocolate ganache pour.  Julie will share her creativity as well as tricks of the decorating trade.  All materials and tools will be provided and each participant will decorate a cake to take home.  The class fee is $45 with registration required by Friday, October 21.  Online registration is available on the calendar listing at www.artisanbarn.org.
