Event Description:
June 14, 2017 (Moscow, Idaho) – Join us Saturday, June 17th for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.
 
Music: Live music at Friendship Square will be provided by Bigger Boat at 9:30 a.m. followed by Natalie Greenfield and Company at 11:00 a.m.
 
Special Events: The University of Idaho, College of Agricultural & Life Sciences (CALS) will be by the clock in Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Visit their booth this Saturday for the continuation of the Summer of Science Program, education for grades kindergarten through fifth. Don’t forget to get your science passport and attend at least five events to be entered into a drawing for great prizes. Children will also have the opportunity to build their own science kit, earning different pieces at each event. The program this Saturday will feature Bob Tripepi who will present on From Cells to Plants, learn how to grow plants from tissue cultures and plant grafts. Representatives from Washington State will be at the market to distribute WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefit checks to recipients. Check in with them near the City Tent (by the fountain in Friendship Square) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
 
The UI Chess Club will be hosting chess games on Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. enjoy a table game or our giant piece set.
 
The Parks and Recreation Commission will be by the bus stop in Friendship Square from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. visit their booth and learn about the work they are doing and their future projects.
 
Palouse Paws with a Cause will be by the fountain in Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. chat with them to learn more about their organization and meet service dogs in training.
 
Vendor of the Week: Swallowtail Flowers from Moscow, Idaho. Product highlights include: fresh cut flowers and flower arrangements. Swallowtail Flowers has been a vendor of the Moscow Farmers Market for 3 years.
 
Shop the Market with Backyard Harvest: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent, by the fountain in Friendship Square, to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.
 
WIC and SFMNP: The Moscow Farmers Market is accepting State of Washington WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and SFMNP (Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program) checks.
 
Please remember that no animals, except for ADA service dogs, are allowed at the Moscow Farmers Market.
