Event Description:
Join us Saturday, August 5th for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.
 
Live Performances: Live performances at Friendship Square will be provided by Highway 99 at 9:30 a.m. followed by Shiloh and the Young Guns at 11:00 a.m.
 
Special Events: The University of Idaho, College of Agricultural & Life Sciences (CALS) will be by the clock in Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Visit their booth this Saturday for the continuation of the Summer of Science Program, education for grades kindergarten through fifth. Don’t forget to get your science passport and attend at least five events to be entered into a drawing for great prizes. Children will also have the opportunity to build their own science kit, earning different pieces at each event. The program this Saturday will feature Food Science and Safety. Learn more about how food products are created and the safety measures in place to keep you healthy. CALS food scientists will be demonstrating how some of your favorite foods are made and new ones created, as well as how to keep yourself safe from foodborne illnesses at home. The Great Moscow Food Drive, sponsored by the Latah County Human Rights Task Force and the City of Moscow Human Rights Commission, will be by the bus stop in Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Donations of non-perishable food and household and toiletry items are requested and will be donated to the Moscow Food Bank. Donations of cash and checks will also be accepted. Please make checks payable to the Latah County Human Rights Task Force. One-half of cash or check donations will go to support the Moscow Food Bank and the other half will help the Summer Weekend Backpack for Kids, a project that provides weekend food packs targeting children from families who are eligible for free or reduced cost lunches and breakfasts during the school year but who do not have access to these programs in the summer. Additional drop off locations include Moscow Safeway and Moscow Rosauers. 
 
The UI Chess Club will be hosting chess games on Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. enjoy a table game or our giant piece set.
 
Vendor of the Week: Sumptuous Soaps from Pullman, Washington. Product highlights include: soap, shampoo bars and more. Sumptuous Soaps has been a vendor of the Moscow Farmers Market for 15 years.
 
Shop the Market with Backyard Harvest: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent, by the fountain in Friendship Square, to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.
 
WIC and SFMNP: The Moscow Farmers Market is accepting State of Washington WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and SFMNP (Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program) checks. 
 
 
 
Please remember that no animals, except for ADA service dogs, are allowed at the Moscow Farmers Market.
