Event Description:
August 1, 2016 (Moscow, Idaho) – Join us Saturday, August 6th for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.
Music: Live music at Friendship Square will be provided by The Cherry Sisters Revival at 9:30 a.m. followed by Henry C and the Willards at 11:00 a.m.
Special Events: The Market will feature the Great Moscow Food Drive collecting donations of non-perishable food and household items from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. by the fountain in Friendship Square. The Food Drive will benefit the Moscow Food Bank and the Trinity Food Pantry. Donations of cash and checks will also be accepted, please make checks payable to the Latah County Human Rights Task Force. Alternate drop off locations include Moscow Safeway and Moscow Rosauers.
A kids cooking demonstration featuring a ladybug apple snack will be at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. by the City Tent (next to the clock in Friendship Square). Class size is limited. Sign up at the City Tent for available classes.
Don’t miss Chess at the Market with the University of Idaho Chess Club from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on 5th Street. Enjoy the game while playing with giant 25” pieces!
Vendor of the Week: Hagen’s Orchard from Clarkston, WA. Product highlights include: apricots, asparagus, blueberries, cantaloupe, cucumbers, nectarines, peaches, plums, squash, tomatoes, zucchini, and much more. Hagen’s Orchard has been a vendor in the Moscow Farmers Market for more than thirty-six years.
Shop the Market: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent, by the clock in Friendship Square, to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.
WIC and SFMNP: The Moscow Farmers Market is now accepting WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and SFMNP (Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program) checks.
Please remember that no animals, except for ADA service dogs, are allowed at the Moscow Farmers Market.
