Join us Saturday, August 13th for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.
Music: Live music at Friendship Square will be provided by Dan Maher at 9:30 a.m. followed by Potatohead at 11:00 a.m.
Special Events: The Market will feature the National Farmers Market Week celebration from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. by the music stage at Friendship Square. The celebration will begin with Mayor Lambert reading the National Farmers Market Week proclamation. Then Jessie Hunter, Director of Domestic Marketing, with the USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council will host a lentil smoothie demonstration featuring fresh ingredients purchased at the market. A raffle of Market Goodie Baskets will be part of the celebration. Winners of the raffle will be drawn and announced at around 10:45 a.m. by the music stage in Friendship Square. Stop by the City Tent (next to the clock in Friendship Square) to view the baskets and grab a raffle ticket.
The USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council will be sharing information about pulses (dry peas, beans, lentils, and chickpeas) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. by the fountain in Friendship Square.
A Kids Produce Tasting from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. by the City Tent (next to the clock in Friendship Square). Kids will be tasting fruit and/or vegetables purchased from local farmers in the market.
Don’t miss Chess at the Market with the University of Idaho Chess Club from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. by the fountain in Friendship Square. Enjoy the game while playing table chess and with giant 25” pieces!
Vendor of the Week: Boothmans Home Bakery & Produce from Yakima, WA. Product highlights include: apricots; pears; artisan breads, baked goods, and pastries (with gluten free options); cucumbers; green beans; jams; jellies; peaches; peas; tomatoes, and much more. Boothmans Home Bakery & Produce has been a vendor in the Moscow Farmers Market for more than nineteen years.
Shop the Market: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent, by the clock in Friendship Square, to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.
WIC and SFMNP: The Moscow Farmers Market is now accepting WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and SFMNP (Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program) checks.
