Event Description:
Join us Saturday, August 20th for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.
 
Music: Live music at Friendship Square will be provided by University of Idaho Preparatory Strings at 9:30 a.m. followed by Bare Wires at 11:00 a.m.
 
Special Events: The Market will feature the Pathways Commission from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. by the City Tent (next to the clock in Friendship Square).
 
A Kids Produce Tasting from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. by the City Tent (next to the clock in Friendship Square). Kids will be tasting fruit and/or vegetables purchased from local farmers in the market.
 
UI Extension Small Farms & Horticulture will be hosting a table across from the City Tent (next to the clock in Friendship Square) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Check out their resources and programming regarding soils, vegetable gardening, fruit trees, ornamentals, lawns, insects, weeds, and other related topics.
 
Don’t miss Chess at the Market with the University of Idaho Chess Club from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. near the City Tent (next to the clock in Friendship Square). Enjoy the game while playing with giant 25” pieces!
 
Vendor of the Week: Pokey Creek Farm from Santa, ID. Product highlights include: berries, bok choy, broccoli, brussels sprouts, greens, melons, cauliflower, celery, peppers, herbs, corn, cucumbers, flowers, edamame, eggplant, garlic, beans, jams, jellies, kale, onions, peas, potatoes, tomatoes, and much more. Pokey Creek Farm has been a vendor in the Moscow Farmers Market for more than eighteen years.
 
Shop the Market with Backyard Harvest: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent, by the clock in Friendship Square, to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.
 
WIC and SFMNP: The Moscow Farmers Market is now accepting WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and SFMNP (Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program) checks.
 
 
 
Please remember that no animals, except for ADA service dogs, are allowed at the Moscow Farmers Market.
