Potatoes, sugar beets, onions, corn, and the dairy/cattle industry have made Idaho's agriculture world famous, while also establishing its economic prosperity. However, new farming methods and consumer concerns are demanding that contemporary farming practices to be more holistic, environmentally friendly, and sustainable. Is our food system providing us with healthy food and economic support of our communities? What are the real benefits and challenges of a locally diverse food system? To Live Local will provide a first-hand look into the lives of farmers in Idaho; all with a unique perspective on the meaning of 'sustainable agriculture.' Through interviews, photos, and stories, you will be provided with a glimpse into the lives of farmers and the challenges they encounter every day.
