Humans aren't the only ones looking for love this month. Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to profess your love; however, that love doesn’t need to be limited to fellow humans. Pets, particularly adoptable animals, have lots of love to share. Rescue a companion dog or cat and you’ll have Valentine’s Day every day.
HSoP is pleased to announce our first “Name Your Own Price” pet adoption event.
What’s the catch? Do I really get to name my own adoption fee? No catch! As long as you are meet our requirements to adopt, you get to choose your adoption fee for available dogs and cats Friday February 9th from 1-6pm and again on Saturday February 10th from 1-6pm. ***HSoP will not put any adoptable animals on hold prior to this event.***
What’s a fair adoption fee?
If you’re having trouble deciding what your adoption fee should be, consider this:
• It costs us an average of $100 per week to care for EACH animal in our facility waiting to be adopted. Some available animals have been waiting more than 6 weeks!
• We want to give our shelter pets as many opportunities as possible to find their forever homes, and need support from the community to do so. When you’re determining your fee, consider that fee as your legacy to the more than 200 cats and 200 dogs that HSoP takes in annually and, like the pet you just adopted, deserve a second chance at a forever home. With your support, we can continue to build our life-saving and life-changing programs, including HSoP Spay and Neuter Assistance Program, HSoP Pet Food Bank and HSoP Merlin Fund (A fund that helps cover the costs of lifesaving surgeries for homeless pets).
