Event Description:
On Ensemble infuses the powerful rhythms of Japanese taiko drumming with musical elements ranging from jazz, hip-hop, and rock to Central Asian overtone singing. The group's fearless musical exploration expands the artistic range of these ancient instruments, producing some of the most compelling and creative taiko music today. Tickets may be purchased in advance at all TicketsWest outlets, including online at TicketsWest.com, by phone at 800-325-SEAT (800-325-7328), and at the Beasley Coliseum ticket office (open Mon-Fri 10-2 beginning in August). Convenience charges apply at all locations except Beasley. Free WSU student tickets require valid ID and may be picked up in advance only at Beasley Coliseum. Co-presented by WSU Performing Arts and Festival Dance & Performing Arts, in residence at the University of Idaho, with generous support from WESTAF, the Western States Arts Federation; Washington State Arts Commission; and the National Endowment for the Arts.
