A celebration of recent French and Francophone cinema returns for a fifth edition this fall, under a new name but with the same mix of fascinating films and university-community conviviality that audiences have come to expect. The Palouse French Film Festival is presented once again through the combined efforts of the language departments at Washington State University and the University of Idaho, and the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow. Every Tuesday evening in October, Moscow?s downtown theater will be presenting the 2014 Palouse Festival, made possible with the support of loyal partner units at UI and WSU, as well as The Wine Company of Moscow. Films will begin at 7:00 p.m. Renoir/Renoir Set on the French Riviera in the summer of 1915, Jean Renoir ? son of the Impressionist painter, Pierre-Auguste ? returns home to convalesce after being wounded in World War I. At his side is Andrée, a young woman who rejuvenates, enchants, and inspires both father and son.
