Triathlons are a fun, healthy activity people can enjoy for a lifetime, and in the Palouse Youth Triathlon we encourage kids ages 5-14 years to challenge themselves both physically and mentally in this exciting introduction to the sport of triathlons! The Palouse Youth Triathlon is held immediately following the Palouse Sprint Triathlon - kids and parents can train together and then cheer each other on in their own events. Race distances are based on age, and the positive, non-competitive environment makes this a perfect event for kids of all abilities. Pllus, all participants will receive a t-shirt, and all finishers receive a finisher's award!
All groups will begin with the swimming leg of the race, and each age group will start 5 minutes after the previous group finishes. After the swim, triathletes will proceed to the first transition area to start the bike leg of the event; after completing the bike leg triathletes will begin the running leg. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR HELMETS DURING THE BIKE LEG OF THE EVENT!
