Name: PCEI's Science After Hours
Date: October 1, 2015
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM PDT
Event Description:
After a brief hiatus, PCEI's Science After Hours is BACK for fall 2015! We will start things off with our October event at Camas Prairie Winery: An Evening of Entomology. Kicking us off is the dynamic aphid duo, Jake Asplund and Robert Orpet from WSU. Describing the aphid as "an amazing animal whose adaptations make them an adversary worthy of study," these two may change the way you look at these garden pests. Amy Worthington, postdoctoral researcher at WSU, will expound upon the love lives of crickets. In particular, her research takes a closer look at the costs and benefits of the mating habits of female crickets. Finally, a special guest expert will fill us in on a local community group working hard to improve conditions for some of our Palouse insect neighbors. Don't miss it! Make sure to arrive on time o even early!-- these seats go fast! This event is open and free to the public. A $5 donation per person is recommended :)
