SARA.
The Work Sara Joyce(1923-2011), SARA., as she siged her work, lived in Idaho most of her adult life. Creativity permeated Sara's life. It found expression in the clothes and home furnishings she made, the gardens and studios she built and in the journals, drawings, paintings, ceramics and fabric sculptures she created. This exhibit is an introduction to the prolific range of the artist's creative practice.
Sara's work was turned to implying the universal within the personal of her vision. She wanted the work to elicit a response. It didn't matter what the response was. That she had brought forth something in the viewer was her gratification. Capturing the emotional essence in a color or gesture can convey a wealth of responses.
