The Ecology of Desire: A Creative Current Exhibit

Join us for the Third Street Gallery’s newest exhibit titled The Ecology of Desire: A Creative Current. The exhibit begins February 20, 2014 and continues through April 16, 2014.

The opening reception is February 20, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and will feature a poetry reading from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

The poetry reading will be broadcast live on the City of Moscow’s TV channel 18-7 and on the City’s website at http://www.ci.moscow.id.us/Pages/ch18-7.aspx.

The concept for the exhibit is a creation of local artist, Laurel Macdonald, and poet, Georgia Tiffany, who together collaborated with 20 artists and 21 poets. The project begins with Ron McFarland’s poem about a woman’s life journey titled “The Lover of Lakes”. This poem is followed by George Wray’s drawing “The Swimmer”, which is a response to McFarland’s creation. For the remainder of the project, each poet and artist responded to the previous work, so that each is a continuation of the work before it.

“The main object for this project,” says Laurel “is to introduce poets and artists to each other. Many poets need artists to illustrate their work, and the Palouse area is home to many artists, working in a variety of media.”

A publication of the complete works is available at BookPeople of Moscow.

Third Street Gallery is located on the second and third floors of Moscow City Hall at 206 East Third Street Moscow, ID. Gallery hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
