Join the Kenworthy Board of Directors and Staff on April 28th at 7:00 PM for an evening of classic entertainment! For ONE NIGHT ONLY the Kenworthy will be screening the silent film The Phantom of the Opera, accompanied by a new score written by Moscow resident, Dylan Champagne. Originally presented in 1925, The Phantom of the Opera is a film classic. Lon Chaney stars as the Phantom; a deranged and disfigured composer who haunts a Parisian opera house and falls in love with the young ingénue, Christine Daae. In place of the original score, a LIVE 8-piece ensemble, directed by Al Gemberling, will perform Champagne's composition. "In the course of working on the musical score for Phantom, I have fallen in love with the movie; with its incredible cinematography, set design, and art direction. I have fallen in love with its high melodrama and operatic contours, with its odd pacing and its slapstick moments amidst a tense and unrelenting backdrop of creepiness. I've tried my best to respond as honestly and directly as I can to what I see on the screen. I?ve tried to conceptualize the music, not as an overlaid piece or a layer, but as an integral outgrowth of the onscreen action," said Champagne. Tickets: $20 General Admission $10 Student Admission Tickets are available now online or at the Kenworthy and will be available on the night of the show
