Many barriers exist to maintaining a physically active lifestyle. One mechanism to overcome these barriers is family-centered exercise. This method of exercise provides all the health benefits of being physically active, while providing a natural support system right in the walls of your own home. Many who have tried adopting a more active lifestyle as a family have reported a higher quality of life and improved family cohesion. We will discuss the advantages of this exercise strategy and some of the mechanisms that can be used to implement a family-based exercise plan.
