The Third Street Gallery will exhibit “Inflation Celebration” from May 3, 2018 to June 5, 2018. The show, curated by local artist Jennifer Rod, will feature over 50 works of art and poems inspired by inflatable objects.
“About a year and a half ago while I was moving, I unearthed two-and-a-half suitcases of inflatable objects,” said Rod. “The objects ranged from beach balls, to birthday cakes, to inflatable shorts, and everything in between. I passed these objects out to over 50 artists for them to create an art piece, whatever they were inspired to do. Then I passed images of these works onto over 40 writers to write a poem or something they were inspired to create. This exhibit brings this body of work together.”
A reception will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Moscow City Hall in the Council Chambers. The reception is free and open to the public.
