Third Street Gallery’s newest exhibit titled: “This Is My Home Now Narrative Textiles from Idaho Newcomers” begins April 7, 2016 and runs through May 11, 2016. The exhibit features a collection of handmade quilts stitched by Idaho Newcomers working with Artisans For Hope volunteers. The quilts tell the stories of refugees who have made Idaho home after living through catastrophic times in their native countries. The exhibit was produced by the Idaho Commission on the Art with the support of the National Endowment for the Arts.
A reception and artist talk will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The artist talk will feature a number of artists from the exhibit, including: Maria Shefa.
