The Smithsonian is coming to Moscow, and we want to make sure that every student has the opportunity to attend!
Water/Ways, a traveling Smithsonian exhibit, brings the pop-up “Museum on Main Street” experience to Moscow City Hall from December 9, 2016 to January 21, 2017. Exploring a series of five water-related themes: Water is Life, Flow, Source, Quench, and Water is Eternal,
Water/Ways is designed for small and rural audiences. With a variety of connections to different subjects, this exhibit can complement the study of general science, biology, environmental issues, ecology, politics, history, engineering, spirituality, and other aspects of the effects of water in our lives.
The Latah County Historical Society is offering a limited number of scholarships to classrooms outside of Moscow to facilitate visits to the exhibit. Due to the size of the exhibit space, we ask that visits by groups be scheduled in advance. Applications for visits and travel scholarships, along with detailed information about the
Water/Ways exhibit, are available on our website at
www.latahcountyhistoricalsociety.org. Deadline for applications is November 30
th.
This presentation is sponsored by the Latah County Historical Society, the City of Moscow, and the Idaho Humanities Council. Travel scholarships are made possible in part by the Dime in Time program from the Moscow Food Co-op.
